Playing at Raheny Badminton Club
Carlsberg don’t do badminton halls, but if they did, then Raheny’s home at Baldoyle Badminton Centre is how they would do them.
Top Class Courts
Baldoyle Badminton Centre is home to Raheny Badminton Club, it is the most convivial hall in Dublin, if not in Ireland to play badminton. This purpose-built, single-use, 8-court facility is the only one of its kind in Ireland and boasts many fine features making playing badminton in it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The sprung floor delivers comfort and reduces the risk of injury. It is cleaned daily and, unlike the floors of many multi-use halls, does not suffer slipperiness resulting from dust and debris left by other sports. The optimised lighting and background colour scheme mean that you can always see the shuttle. The high ‘A’ frame roof allows you deliver powerful risk-free clears to the back of the court, giving you plenty of time to recover for the next shot.
The generous run-off area behind and between the courts mean there is no risk of colliding with fixtures or waiting players as you make that extreme shot. The tiered seating area behind the courts provides a comfortable viewing platform from which to observe other games while you take a break. When you arrived down to play you can being to warm-up immediately, while you wait for the games to be called; the permanent, correctly set-up nets are already in place, and when you have finished for the evening, there is no need to spend your time putting equipment away. Raheny’s home venue will help you get the most from your game.
Showers, Bar and Lounge
No top-notch facility would be complete without proper changing rooms and showers, and that is what you can expect from the recently refurbished changing rooms at Baldoyle Badminton Centre; what better way to refresh yourself and get ready for tomorrow than to jump into a hot shower after a hard evening’s play. And when you’re all cleaned up and ‘nice-to-be-near’, why not head upstairs to the newly refurbished lounge for some refreshments and pleasant conversation before heading home? Or, during the League Season, to a post match supper; Raheny teams are rumoured to put on some of the best suppers in the League. Is it any wonder, therefore, that Raheny has members coming from all parts of the city, and further afield to play there?
